About MAHI

I'm Jeff. Owner and founder of MAHI. 

MAHI has been in the works for a long long time. I have an adventurous spirit in technology as well as the outdoors....when the two meet, I'm in my element. MAHI became an acronym, because I wanted a brand with a message. Mind Attitude Heart and Innovation. Our daily rituals are “Work, Play, Gather.”

 

The fish logo is inspired by a life long friend's drawing. He passed due to complications with mental health when he was 41. He took his own life.

 

He himself was into the name brands of clothes....Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie, Orvis, LLBean etc. He could rock a pair of cowboy boots just as easily though.

 

The fish is gold as a tribute to the quote from Robert Frosts, “Nothing Gold can Stay.” “Stay golden” from the movie, ‘The Outsiders.’

 

We all honor our loved ones in different ways. It is in honor of him, that I chose this type of fish. This logo is dedicated to Chris and anyone who loved him. The name, MAHI; the acronym, is a mindset as well as a brand name.

 

This adventure began back a few years ago. I realize how much other people in my life have helped me develop the tools and the skills to continue it. Friends family and colleagues.

My previous obligations took me around the world where I would snorkel and fish and swim and sail in some odd corners of the earth or some spec of an island.

 

MAHI Outfitters is a “look beyond the surface” mindset. Be curious about things.

Whenever I traveled, I thought, “what will I do when I get into this place?”

After taking a break from it, I reflect, “what will I do now? What will I do, now that all of those places have gotten into me!?”

 

I want to share those experiences with readers, shoppers and outdoor adventurers. But most importantly my friends and family.

 

‘It’s my goal to share this brand, this lifestyle, in as many places of the world as have welcomed me.’

 

I believe Philanthropy is the tip of Maslows pyramid…..that Maslow didn’t finish.

 

As MAHI grows, so too will our philanthropic endeavors.
