I've been to Hilton Head so many times I've lost track. But one place on the island that continues to call me back is HarborTown. Located in the SeaPines area of Hilton Head, Harbor Town is the pearl of of SeaPines village.

The Quarter Deck is the Pearl of Harbor Town. Its perched on the west facing bluff 2 miles north of Braddock Point. I entered through the cafe' which I think is brand new. There's ice cream, coffee and some other good snacks right there at the end of the dock!

I checked in with the maitre d' and she led me upstairs to a beautiful table just inside the function room. Every seat has a view of the harbor in the restarant. The teak wood is framed exquisitely with a whale bone white trim that reminded me of the old scrimshaw artifacts from back in Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard. Whaling was prevalent by the early settlers, until strict regulations were adopted as recently as the early 1900S.

What I ADORE about the Quarter Deck is that there is not a single Television in the entire restaurant. There's no noise in the background, no disagreements at the bar. There's amazing conversation with patrons and locals creating new connections and sharing stories of their adventures either by boat, plane or car.

I had a salad, with edamame, noodles, salmon, black beans, avocado, and then some. I added blackened salmon. Cooked perfectly.

The key lime cheesecake, was a hybrid between key lime pie and cheese cake. It's made right across the harbor at the bakery. Not as dense as a typical cheesecake. It's airy and big and delicious.

The service was impeccable, the view was spectacular, and the food was amazing. Every time something was presented to the patron, there was no room for improvement. The seats were comfortable, the tables were spacious, the view was stunning.

The best part was the people. It stands to reason, that if you provide the tools to offer the best product, the best people come running to work with you and do so in unwavering joy.
